Blaine Lacher Obituary- The former Boston Bruins player Blaine Lacher unexpectedly passed away on January 29. The former hockey player retired from the sport in 2002 and was said to have moved back to Medicine Hat, Alberta.

A one-season wonder, Blaine Lacher’s 1994 season with the Bruins is thoroughly remembered by several hockey fans. In an interview in 2017, when Lacher was asked if it bothered him to be known for a short career, he said it never did.

As per Blaine Lacher obituary, the former hockey player unexpectedly died on January 29. The former Bruins player had kept away from public eyes all these years.

An outstanding athlete at Lake Superior State, Blaine Lacher won an NCAA title in 1992. A year later, he set an all-time consecutive scoreless streak at 375:01 minutes. In his three years as a collegiate hockey player, Lacher posted a career record of 49-13-7.

Despite his collegiate record, no NHL team drafted him. But in 1994, the Boston Bruins thought of taking a chance at him. And the youngster ended up surprising everyone.

He had a brilliant rookie season, with an impressive record of 19-11-2. But he couldn’t keep the magic in his second year. Bruins and Lacher floundered early in their second season, with Lacher being sent to play with Providence Bruins in the AHL.

He played nine games for the Providence Bruins before he was sent to play for the Cleveland Lumberjacks in the IHL. In 1996, Boston bought out his contract, and Lacher signed with Grand Rapids Griffins.

An article from 2013 mentioned that Lacher had moved back to Medicine Hat and worked for Goodyear building tires. He was also said to be involved with the minor hockey scene in Medicine Hat.
