Michael Dwayne Stoffels last worked as a custodian at the Muenster Post office until his disabilities forced him to retire.

Golden Globe boxer, Michael Dwayne Stoffels, passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 75 in Muenster, Texas. However, the precise reason behind his passing remains unknown.
After a 45-year separation, Mike Dwayne Stoffels has found peace once more, joining his beloved wife, Marilyn Swirczynski, who passed away in 1980. Their almost half-century of earthly separation ends in a timeless reunion.
Besides, Marilyn Swirczynski, Mike was preceded by his parents, Meinrad and Anna Mae.
Likewise, he outlived his brothers, Donald and Doug, his sister, Susan Banks, his stepson, Dean Swirczynski, and his stepdaughter, Dea Swirczynski Kieninger.
Mike Dwayne Stoffels is survived by his sister, Darla Hash, and her husband, David; his brother, Nick Stoffels, and his wife, Bonnie; his sister, Sara Woodmansee, and her husband, Daniel; his stepson, Darrell Swirczynski, and his wife, Sharon; and several extended family members.

Born on June 26, 1950, to parents Meinrad and Anna Mae Stoffels, Mike was the second of seven children.
Mike grew up in Muenster and attended Subiaco Academy in Arkansas for high school, where he excelled in athletics.
He was a talented Golden Glove boxer, trained by his uncle and coach, Father Nicholas Fuhrmann.
After high school, Mike began studying for the priesthood at a seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. However, when his father, Meinrad, became seriously ill, Mike returned home to support his family, putting his seminary plans aside.
Mike’s love for sports never faded. His passion for boxing continued with the founding of a boxing club in Muenster, where he took young boxers to competitions across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
Not to forget, Mike also volunteered as a football coach at Sacred Heart High School.
After his assistant coaching at Sacred Heart High School, Mike tied the knot with Marilyn Swirczynski in Muenster, but sadly, she passed away in 1980.
After the tragic passing of his wife, Mike worked in various roles over the years.
Some of his roles include serving as a bus driver for Taps Public Transit, a conductor on the Frankie Schmitz Express train in Gainesville City Park, and a custodian at the Muenster Post Office, until health issues forced him to retire.
In his final act of generosity, Mike donated his body to UT Southwest in Dallas for scientific research.
Whereas, his ashes will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Muenster at a later date.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster on July 23, 2026, at 10 a.m.
