A television personality and executive producer best known for Basketball Wives, Shaunie Henderson, is now married to Keion Henderson after her high-profile divorce from NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Shaunie met Shaquille O’Neal in the late 1990s after he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. At the time, Shaunie was new to dating athletes, having grown up in Los Angeles.

Their first meeting was at the 1999 premiere of Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Shaq tried to charm her by inviting her to dinner, but Shaunie turned him down at first. However, his humor and charm won her over, and they began dating.

They tied the knot in a private ceremony on December 26, 2002, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Their marriage seemed like a fairytale, with Shaunie enjoying the NBA lifestyle and raising a family together.

Shaunie and Shaq welcomed their first child together, Shareef, in 2000, followed by three more children: , Shaqir, and .

Shaunie also had a son, Myles, from a previous relationship, and Myles later took Shaq’s last name. Likewise, Shaq also had a daughter, Taariah, from an earlier relationship.

Despite the happy moments, Shaunie and Shaq’s marriage faced difficulties. Shaq’s demanding NBA career meant he was often away, and Shaunie later revealed she felt a lack of partnership in their relationship.

She also suspected Shaq of infidelity, which he later admitted to in his 2011 memoir, Shaq Uncut: My Story.

In 2007, Shaq filed for divorce, citing their marriage as “irretrievably broken.” They briefly reconciled in 2008, but Shaunie filed for divorce in 2009, and it was finalized in 2011.

Despite the split, both Shaunie and Shaq have maintained a respectful co-parenting relationship.

In her memoir Undefeated, Shaunie candidly reflected that she may have been more in love with the idea of their family than with Shaq himself.

Shaq, in turn, has publicly taken responsibility for the breakdown of their marriage, expressing regret and admiration for Shaunie’s strength.

Shaunie Henderson and Keion Henderson Dated for 2 Years Before Marrying!

After her divorce, Shaunie focused on raising her five children and building her career as a producer.

She dated briefly, including a relationship with actor Marlon Yates, but found dating exhausting and had no plans to remarry.

For nearly a decade, she lived independently, relying on herself and her sons for support.

It was years after her divorce that Shaunie found love again, this time with , founder of The Lighthouse Church in Houston.

The two met in February 2026 through a mutual friend, and their first date was an unexpected occurrence, taking place in a hotel lobby.

Shaunie and Keion connected instantly, talking for six hours and feeling like they could have talked longer.

Initially, Shaunie was hesitant, thinking a pastor’s lifestyle might be “boring,” but Keion’s fun and warm personality surprised her.

They found common ground in shared experiences, including the pain of past divorces. Keion had previously been married and had a daughter, Katelyn, from that relationship.

Their relationship blossomed slowly and intentionally. After nearly two years of dating, Keion proposed in November 2026 with a custom 4.22-carat ring during a romantic island getaway.

On May 28, 2026, Shaunie and Keion married in a beautiful ceremony at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club, attended by nearly 200 guests.

Shaunie’s three sons walked her down the aisle, a heartfelt moment after the loss of her father earlier that year.

Her Basketball Wives co-star Evelyn Lozada and other close friends were present, and Shaq received a “courtesy invite” but did not attend, respecting it as Shaunie’s day.
