The surf world is in mourning following the tragic death of Kolby Aipa, a beloved young surfer and athlete, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a recent e-bike accident.

He had been on life support, fighting for his life, but despite hopes and prayers from family, friends, and fans around the world, Kolby passed away.

A Rising Star In The Surf World

Kolby Aipa was more than a promising talent, as friends described him as a supernatural shredder.

Born into the legendary Aipa family, Kolby carried the name with pride, grace, and a powerful presence on the waves.

From his early days as a “super grom,” he made a name for himself as a stylish and fearless surfer.

In 2019, Kolby claimed victory in the grom division of the same competition, cementing his status as a rising star.

Whether captured by Mike Moir or Sunset Dave, Kolby’s moments on the waves were more than just photographs.

A Devastating Loss In The Surfing World

News of Kolby’s accident sent shockwaves across the community.

Initial reports from friends and surfers asked for prayers and strength, as Kolby lay in critical condition.

A GoFundMe campaign launched to support the Aipa family raised over $15,000 of its $50,000 goal in just days, with donations pouring in from those who had seen Kolby surf or had simply been touched by his story.

One family friend wrote:

“MAY GOD BLESS YOU KOLBY AIPA — GONE WAY TOO SOON. My deepest sympathies and condolences to Duke, Val, their daughter, and the entire Aipa family.”

Another added:

“Kolby was young and strong… and so are all of us to help him fight. Let’s all come together and support the Aipa family.”

Kolby was a beloved son, a brother, and a friend.

He was part of a generation of surfers who grew up honoring the past while carving their own path into the future.

His blend of raw talent and humble attitude made him someone others admired, both in and out of the water.

“We love Kolby ❤️❤️… Kolby was a gentleman surfer. His energy, style, and smile will never be forgotten.”

The Aipa family, Duke, Val, and their daughter have received an outpouring of love and prayers.

The surfing world, known for its deep bonds, is standing behind them as they face this unimaginable loss.

Kolby Aipa’s legacy will live on in the water, in the photos that captured his magic, and in the hearts of everyone who watched him grow into a champion.

Rest in peace, Kolby!
