- He spent his childhood years in Belton, Missouri.
- After he completed high school, Tate Stevens went on tours with a band named Dixie Cadillacs for a couple of years before returning home.
- Before he made it big in his career, he used to work for the city of Belton repairing roads.
- Tate Stevens was chosen as the lead singer of the band named Outlaw Junkies around the year 2005 and his bandmates included Steve Koken and Robert Harmon.
- In 2008, he formed his own 6-piece band called the Tate Stevens Band.
- During his audition for season 2 of The X Factor, he performed the song Anything Goes by Randy Houser. His performance was judged by L.A. Reid, , , and who chose him and sent him to the boot camp.

Also, the album was ranked at number #4 in the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart, at number #17 in the UK Country Albums (OCC) chart, and at number #18 in the US Billboard 200 chart.
