The ESPN NFL Analyst And Draft King Mel Kiper Jr.’s Wife Kim Kiper Is His Life Partner As Well As His Business Partner

The veteran ESPN NFL analyst Mel Kiper Jr. and his wife Kim Kiper have been married for over three decades. The two are parents to one daughter, Lauren, who is now part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Widely known as one of the first two people to establish mock drafts in the sports world, Mel Kiper Jr. has come out with a list of his favorite top 25 college players.

In Mel’s recently published ESPN article, Colorado’s wide receiver, Travis Hunter, sits at the top.

The list also has Colorado’s quarterback Shedeur Sanders jump one position higher to third.

Alongside listing his favorite 25 players, Kiper Jr. also ranked his top 10 favorite players in every position.

For Mel, it was hard to juggle his ESPN job and family business, Mel Enterprises, and that’s when Kim entered his life.

Kim became not only Mel’s life partner but also his work partner.

Throughout the years, the ESPN analyst has shown great appreciation for his wife.

Kim Kiper Took Over Mel Enterprises After Mel Kiper Sr’s Passing

Mel Kiper Jr. met Kim Kiper in Maryland, and the two began dating in 1988 after Mel Sr.’s passing.

After Mel Sr.‘s passing, Rheta, his wife, took over Mel Enterprises business.

The couple tied the knot in 1989, a year after their first date. Before marrying Mel, Kim worked in pharmaceutical sales.

Soon, Kim quit her job and started helping Rheta in Mel Enterprises. Kim saw Rheta working late into the night, writing customer information on cards and doing books by hand.

But Kim changed all of this. She created a computerized customer database and purchased an automated postage machine.

Kim negotiated Kiper’s contracts with ESPN and helped her husband put together his draft book.

Lauren Kiper, the only child of Mel and Kim, has always been mentioned in articles about the Kiper family.

In the ESPN article, Kim wrote that only Lauren possessed the power to drag Mel away from football forecasting.

In May 2026, the football analyst, who doesn’t post much on his Instagram handle, shared an for his wife, Kim, and his daughter, Lauren, on Mother’s Day.

Lauren graduated from Stevenson University with a Business Communication degree in 2017 and has since been working with Sinclair Broadcasting Group.

She began as their purchasing assistant in 2017 and currently works as their Strategic Sourcing Specialist.
