    1. His parents separated when Ali was quite young and he and his siblings were subsequently raised by their single mother. They lived in the projects for some time and Ali and his siblings also lived with other family members.
    2. Ali Siddiq was around 14 years old when he started selling drugs and was imprisoned when he was 19 for trafficking cocaine. He served 6 years of a 15-year sentence in the Ruben M. Torres Unit in Hondo, Texas.
    3. It was during his time in prison that he discovered his ability to make people laugh as he used to tell jokes to fellow inmates.
    4. He began doing stand-up at the Just Joking Comedy Cafe in Houston after his release from prison in 1997.
    5. Ali Siddiq’s debut stage appearance was during Apollo Night but he was booed on stage because he was wearing a suit.
    6. In 2009, he started hosting the annual Jive Turkeys Comedy Show to raise money for the Houston Food Bank.
