Amy Satterthwaite is a New Zealander professional cricketer who has represented her country in both the limited-overs formats (ODIs and T20Is) of the international sport, as a top-order batting all-rounder. Having made her debut in both those formats in 2007, she has represented New Zealand in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2009, 2013, and 2017, helping the team achieve the 2nd, 4th, and 5th positions, respectively. In September 2018, she was appointed the national team’s captain as a stop-gap arrangement after long-time captain Suzie Bates had stepped down. In July 2026, she was appointed as the vice-captain of the team, after was selected as the captain on a full-time basis.

- Lea Tahuhu (2010-Present) – Amy and fellow New Zealander international cricketer Lea Tahuhu had grown up playing together for the same Christchurch-based cricket club – St. Albans. Their close friendship had turned into a relationship in 2010 when they started to play district cricket together for Canterbury. Lea had proposed to Amy in 2014 and they eventually got married in March 2017 by when they had already played 67 ODIs and 52 T20Is together for New Zealand. In January 2026, Amy gave birth to their daughter named Grace Marie Satterthwaite. She had also become the first female cricketer to have benefitted from New Zealand Cricket‘s maternity-leave policies which had allowed her to earn her contract’s retainer amount without needing to train or play.

- In August 2007, just a month after her T20I debut, Amy had recorded stunning figures of 6/17 against England in a T20I match. This was the only 6-wicket haul recorded in women’s T20I matches for more than a decade until Botsogo Mpedi of Botswana had recorded a spell of 6/8 in August 2018.
- In February 2017, she had become the first female cricketer to score a hundred in 4 consecutive ODI matches.
- During the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, she had equaled Lydia Greenway’s record of 8 catches in one edition of the tournament.
- She has played domestic cricket around the world turning out for teams such as Canterbury (2003-04–Present) in New Zealand, Tasmania (2014-15–2015-16, 2018-19) in Australia, and Lancashire (2017) in England.
- A valuable all-round player in the T20 format, she has also represented Hobart Hurricanes (2015-16–2016-17) and Melbourne Renegades (2017-18–2018-19, 2026-21) in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), and Lancashire Thunder (2016–2018) in the Women’s Cricket Super League (WCSL).
