Bon Scott was an Australian singer, songwriter, musician, and instrumentalist who is best remembered for being the lead vocalist and lyricist of the critically-acclaimed hard rock band AC/DC. He also topped the “100 Greatest Frontmen of All Time” list, which also included and , issued by Classic Rock magazine in July 2004.

- His last album with AC/DC was the band’s globally successful 6th studio album, Highway to Hell, which was released on July 27, 1979. The album was placed at number #199 on the “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list curated by Rolling Stone and its opening track was ranked at number #254 on Rolling Stone‘s “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list.
- AC/DC‘s 7th studio album, Back in Black, was released on July 25, 1980, as a tribute to Bon Scott. It was certified 25x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 9, 2019, and also became the 2nd best selling album in history.
- As a member of AC/DC, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously in 2003.
- Bon Scott was placed on the 5th spot in the “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of all time” list issued by Hit Parader in 2006.
- As a tribute to the popular artist, a bronze statue of Bon Scott was unveiled at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour in Western Australia on February 24, 2008.
- After his untimely death, Bon Scott was replaced by as the vocalist of AC/DC.
