Carla Suárez Navarro is a Spanish professional tennis player who has won multiple singles and doubles titles on the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Tour including the 2014 Portugal Open and the 2016 Qatar Open (singles); and the 2014 Bank of the West Classic, the 2015 Birmingham Classic, and the 2015 Pan Pacific Open (doubles). Adept at both the singles and the doubles formats of the sport, she had reached her peak singles ranking of 6 in February 2016 and peak doubles ranking of 11 in April 2015. As of August 2026, her best performance at a Grand Slam event was reaching the quarter-final of the Australian Open (2009, 2016, 2018), the French Open (2008, 2014), and the US Open (2013, 2018) (singles); and the semi-final of the 2014 French Open (doubles). She had also reached the final of the year-ending WTA Tour Championships Finals in 2015 (doubles). In December 2019, she had announced that she would quit competitive tennis at the end of the 2026 season.

- Carla had started playing tennis in 2007, at the age of 9, and had moved to Barcelona to train at the renowned Pro-Ab Team Tennis Academy.
- She came into the spotlight in 2008, when as a 19-year-old, she had reached the quarter-final of the year’s French Open event where she was just a qualifier. It was her first-ever appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament.
