- Jimmy Connors (1973-1976) – Chris Evert dated former world No. 1 tennis player Jimmy Connors from 1973 to 1976. They also got engaged when she was 19 years old and a wedding was scheduled for November 8, 1974. However, the romance ended before that and the wedding was called off. In May 2013, he revealed via his autobiography that Evert was pregnant with their child and she unilaterally decided to have an abortion. She then replied that she was “extremely disappointed that he [Connors] used the book to misrepresent a private matter”.
