1. In 2003, Brees and his wife Brittany established the Brees Dream Foundation, which works to support cancer research and patients suffering from it.
2. In high school, Drew excelled in other sports as well and had a varsity letter in basketball and baseball along with football.
3. For his immense performances after recovering from the ACL injury in his junior year, he was selected to USA Today’s All-USA high school football team.
4. When he graduated from Purdue University, he held Big Ten Conference records, which included most passing yards, total offensive yards, and most touchdown passes.
5. Early in his professional career, there were concerns that he might not succeed as a pro due to his lack of arm strength and short stature in comparison to what is needed for a professional quarterback.
6. In 2004, Drew led the San Diego Chargers to their first AFC West title in 10 seasons and for his performances, he was declared as the NFL comeback player of the season.
