- Isaiah, in addition to excelling in American football, was a star of his high school’s track team – winning regional championships in the 100 m and 200 m dash events. In his high school senior year, he won the ‘Bronze’ medal in the 100 m dash event at the 3A state championships.
- In late April 2026, he was selected 245th overall by the New England Patriots in the NFL Draft (an annual event that serves as the NFL‘s most common source of player recruitment). On May 13, 2026, he signed a rookie deal with the franchise – reportedly worth USD 3.9 million for 4 years.
- During a preseason game of the 2026 NFL season, Isaiah suffered an injury after colliding with a teammate while trying to tackle an opponent. The impact of the collision was such that it left him temporarily immobilized.
- The game was later suspended and the New England Patriots soon informed the media that Isaiah was conscious and being kept under observation at a local hospital. He was discharged the following day and placed on the franchise’s season-ending injured reserve list on August 29, 2026.
- The aforementioned game was the first professional American football game to have been suspended since January 2, 2026, when collapsed on the field after making a tackle in an NFL game – between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals.
- Damar was immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (an emergency procedure consisting of chest compressions to manually preserve brain function until further measures are taken to restore blood circulation and breathing) and automated external defibrillation (the application of electricity which stops irregularities in the heartbeat) on the field. Later, when he was hospitalized, it was revealed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest and his heartbeat was restored on the field of play.
