Jonathan Goodwin is a Welsh-American escapologist and daredevil who is widely recognized as one of the most skilled stuntmen in the world and is an expert escape artist, knife thrower, free climber, archer, sideshow performer, marksman, free diver, stunt artist, and strength performer. - Jonathan’s first appearance on TV was Dirty Tricks, a program that was aired on the British free-to-air public-service TV network Channel 4. He went on to feature in the TV specials The Seven Stupidest Things to Escape From and Deathwish Live.
- He had also been featured in Discovery Channel‘s reality TV series One Way Out and How Not to Become Shark Bait. During the filming of the latter program, he had once allowed himself to be attacked by a Caribbean reef shark. After a break from the network, he had returned to Discovery Channel in 2009 to star in a 10-part series of One Way Out.
- During an episode of the Channel 4 comedy TV game show Balls of Steel, his father had helped him with the performance of a stunt.
- In September 2012, it was announced that he had been given his own TV series on the British multi-channel broadcaster UKTV‘s pay-TV channel Watch, titled The Incredible Mr. Goodwin. The show, which had started airing in 2013, had included stunts such as free climbing skyscrapers and extreme planking. It was also broadcast on BBC America, as Dangerman: The Incredible Mr. Goodwin.
- In March 2013, he had performed a stunt of lying on a single nail and having a breezeblock broken on his chest with a sledgehammer, on The Jonathan Ross Show, a British comedy chat show.
- In April 2019, he had participated in the 13th series of the competitive reality TV show Britain’s Got Talent. He had reached the finals of the season and had performed the stunt of being buried alive during the season. This was the first time that this stunt had ever been attempted on stage for a TV show.
- In October 2026, Jonathan was hospitalized after he was injured during a stunt on the set of America’s Got Talent: Extreme. He fell from 70 feet and hit his head, and later had to be rushed into surgery. In February 2026, after almost 4 months, he was released from the hospital.
