- She grew up in California but decided to shift base to South Korea in order to pursue a music career in the competitive world of K-pop.
- While in school, Nicole was a member of the drill team, participated in choir, took dance lessons, and also played the violin for 4 years.
- She was one of the original members of Kara along with Park Gyu-ri, Han Seung-yeon, and Kim Sung-hee. The 4 members made their debut on March 29, 2007.
- Nicole’s mother opened a Korean barbecue restaurant named Aura The Grill in Seoul after accompanying her daughter to South Korea.
- She was the maknae of the group from the time of the group’s debut in 2007 until the addition of 14-year-old Kang Ji-young in 2008.
