- On June 11, 1941, he marked his footprints, handprints, and signature (together with his then-wife Barbara Stanwyck) in cement in the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
- Taylor, who was right-handed, had to practice perfectly drawing a gun with his left hand for weeks in preparation for his character in Billy the Kid (1941).
- He has appeared in 3 films that were nominated for ‘Best Picture’ Oscars: Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935), Quo Vadis (1951), and Ivanhoe (1952).
- He remained close friends with the legendary Hollywood star, . Moreover, Taylor was one of the pallbearers at Gable’s funeral held in November 1960.
- He served as the inspiration for the fictional antihero character named Diabolik that appeared in the popular Italian comic series of the same name in the 1960s.
