    1. Prior to finding his passion for cricket, Ross played hockey. It is said that the sport of hockey helped him master his powerful slog-sweep shot. This also happens to be one of the reasons why he is known as “king of the leg side shots.”
    2. According to sources, his birth name is often written only as Ross Luteru Taylor as he had mistakenly written the names Ross and Luteru which he was often called while playing cricket on the questionnaire form for the official New Zealand Cricket records.
    3. In the past, he was the captain of the New Zealand Under-19 side.
    4. Ross is a right-handed batsman and his bowling style is a right-arm off-break.
    5. His wife Victoria is a cricketer turned teacher. She is a left-handed batsman and off-spinner.
    6. During the World Cup 2011, Ross knocked on a total of 131 runs off just 124 balls. It is said that after scoring just 69 runs off 108 balls, he hit 4 fours and 7 sixes in just 16 balls. Thereafter, he was nicknamed “The Pallekele Plunderer”
