- Steve has been an active athlete at the school level and has participated in several track and field events at the inter-school and intra-school level. In March 2019, he set a new school-level record in the 200 meters dash event for his school team Paulding County High School (PCHS) Patriots.
- In a YouTube video, his friend and YouTube channel partner Noah Webster (a.k.a. ) narrated the story of how Steve once nearly lost his life. The two had been schoolmates for some time and became good friends in 2016. Some of Noah’s relatives had flown over to Atlanta from Germany for vacations and the family went camping at a national park. While there, Steve, Noah, and his cousin decided to swim from one bank of a river to another. As the 3 were halfway through the course, Steve started to panic and began to drown. Noah and his cousin then picked Steve up and swam back to the river bank they had started at. After a few minutes, Steve regained consciousness and thanked Noah for saving his life.
- Steve is a talented musician and has published several independently created tracks on the SoundCloud platform.
- Steve’s YouTube channel is a collaborative effort with his friends, including Noah. He and his friends had, in the channel’s early days, decided to rename it to Flipside. However, they realized that doing so would hurt the chances of getting new subscribers as Flipside was a common name and would give tens of different results when typed in the YouTube search box. They eventually decided to retain the name NoahMadeSMK.
- In 2018, Steve and Noah’s sister had cut Noah’s hair while he was asleep, forcing him to appear in a beanie in his subsequent videos.
