Teya Dora is a Serbian singer and songwriter who is best known for her 2026 single Džanum which attained a lot of popularity on multiple social media platforms including TikTok. The song (whose lyrics convey a somber theme, exploring the pain of unfulfilled aspirations and the pursuit of a brighter future amid despair) attracted particular attention after a 13-year-old male student, in May 2026, had opened fire on the students and staff of an elementary school in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The attack resulted in the death of 10 individuals and occurred just a day before a separate mass shooting in Serbia – both these events ignited mass protests across the country. In the aftermath of these events, Džanum peaked at number 6 on Croatia Songs, a record chart that has been compiled since February 2026 by Billboard (an American music and entertainment magazine whose music charts track the most popular albums and songs in various music genres) as part of its ‘Hits of the World’ chart collection. The track also reached 4th place on the ‘Daily Viral Songs Global’ chart on Spotify (a Swedish audio streaming and media services provider) while its music video has amassed more than 58 million views on YouTube.
