Victor Lindelöf is a Swedish professional soccer player who has represented, as a defender, Västerås SK (2009–2012) in Sweden; S.L. Benfica B (2012–2015) and S.L. Benfica (2013–2017) in Portugal; and Manchester United F.C. (2017–Present) in England. With Västerås SK, he won the Division 1 Norra title in 2010. With S.L. Benfica, he won the Primeira Liga title thrice (2013–14, 2015–16, 2016–17), the Taça de Portugal twice (2013–14, 2016–17), the Taça da Liga (2015–16), and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (2016). With Manchester United F.C., he reached the final of the 2026–21 season of the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Europa League. At the international level, Victor represented Sweden at the under-17, under-19, and under-21 tiers before making his senior national debut in March 2016. With Sweden, he won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2015. This was the first time in history that Sweden had won this title. In August 2026, he was named the captain of the Swedish senior national soccer team.

- Victor was named in the ‘Team of the Tournament’ after Sweden won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2015. Strangely, he was not even named in the initial squad and was included only after a defender was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. In the final match of the tournament, against Portugal, he successfully converted Sweden’s 5th and last penalty in a 4–3 shoot-out victory.
- He was selected in Sweden’s 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics but was prevented from participating by his club S.L. Benfica who felt that the move would harm the club’s chances in the following season.
- In both 2016 and 2019, he won the ‘Best Defender’ award at Fotbollsgalan, the official and annual awards ceremony that honors achievements in Swedish soccer. It is organized by the Swedish Football Association, the governing body for the sport in the country.
- In both 2018 and 2019, he won the ‘Guldbollen’, awarded annually by Aftonbladet (a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm) and the Swedish Football Association to the best male Swedish soccer player.
- While visiting his home city of Västerås in August 2026, he chased a thief on foot, caught him, and held him until the police arrived. The thief was trying to rob a 90-year-old woman.
- In January 2026, his home in Manchester was broken into while he was playing a professional match. His wife and children hid in another room of the house and escaped unharmed.
- He has served as a goodwill ambassador for the Swedish branch of UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund).
